This month we will be screening Como Agua Para Chocolate – Like Water for Chocolate, a 1992 Mexican romantic drama film in the style of magical realism based on the popular novel, published in 1989 by first-time Mexican novelist Laura Esquivel.
The movie is about a woman named Tita living in the early 1900s experiencing the struggles of love, family dynamics and family tradition. The situation creates much tension in the family, and Tita’s powerful emotions begin to surface in fantastical ways through her cooking.
These screenings are outdoors and happen with sunset. For now they are at 8:30pm CST and on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Please bring your mask. Wear your mask as you are walking around and once you are are settled with appropriate distance you may remove your mask. Bring bug spray and seating you may need. Please feel free to bring food and beverage to enjoy.
If you purchase a Membership you get to come to these screenings for free every month! Donation is still optional as you would be supporting good causes! All funds go directly to the Community Health Fund. The community Health fund supports those at an economic disadvantage.
If you purchase this ticket we will send you the location the day before the screening. It will be on the East Side near Cesar Chavez and Chicon and outdoors.
